FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the area of biotechnology, particularly to a method for securing vigour of rice hybrids in subsequent generations, including removing semi-lethal genes from the genotype of heterotic hybrids and hybridisation of contrasting samples of one hybrid combination. The described method involves removing semi-lethal genes from the genotype of heterotic hybrids under exposure to high temperatures in the flowering phase of the rice, the impact whereof leads to elimination of viability-reducing gametes from the population.
EFFECT: invention allows effectively securing hybrid vigour in subsequent generations.
