FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the metallurgy of non-ferrous metals, in particular to the processing of ores and concentrates containing gold and mercury. The method for processing gold-mercury cyanide solutions includes joint sorption of gold and mercury on an ion-exchange resin, after which mercury is sequentially desorbed from the resin and gold from the resin. As the ion-exchange resin, a weakly basic ion-exchange resin of the Purogold S992 brand is used. Desorption of mercury is carried out with a solution containing NaCN 15-25 g/l and NaOH 3-10 g/l, at a temperature of 15-25°C for 4-12 hours. Desorption of gold is carried out with the mentioned solution at a temperature of 55-65°C for 6-18 hours.
EFFECT: method allows to reduce the content of mercury in the ion-exchange resin saturated with gold and to reduce the content of mercury in the ligature gold at a level of no more than 0.1%.
