SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil and gas industry, in particular to tools and methods for assessing the reservoir properties of oil and gas reservoirs. A method for testing a rock sample to evaluate the effectiveness of thermal methods for enhancing oil recovery includes preparing samples of the correct geometric shape. At the same time, a rock sample is placed in a cuff made of the correct geometric shape, corresponding to the shape of a rock sample, and the rock samples are pressed in the cuff with plugs on both sides. In this case, between the plugs and the mentioned at least one rock sample, compression springs are installed on both sides. The cuff is stretched to crimp the rock sample inside the cuff. Scanning the cuff with a rock sample after stretching using X-ray computed tomography to detect the formation of cracks in the rock sample, as well as voids between the wall of the cuff and the rock sample, and in the absence of cracks and voids, install the cuff with a compressed rock sample into the combustion pipe or filtration system for subsequent tests.

EFFECT: use of the claimed invention makes it possible to preserve the natural petrophysical properties of the rock, which makes it possible to obtain more reliable experimental results in comparison with the known methods.
