FIELD: chemical industry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of chemical industry and can be used in the manufacture of composite materials with a metal matrix and carbon fiber. The method for obtaining a composite material includes impregnation of carbon fiber with a barrier coating with liquid aluminum or its alloy. The application of a barrier coating on carbon fiber 2 is carried out in a container with sol based on the deposited oxide 4. During processing, a negative potential is applied to carbon fiber 2 using a conductive roller 3, while an electrode 5 with a positive potential is immersed in a container with sol. During applying the coating on the carbon fiber 2, the sol is treated with ultrasound using an ultrasonic waveguide 6. After passing through the container with the sol, the fiber is wound onto the receiving coil 7. A composite material is also proposed.

EFFECT: ensuring uniform application of the barrier coating and increasing the mechanical strength of the composite material.
