BALLAST AND CARGO TANK OF AN UNDERWATER GAS TANKER FOR TRANSPORTATION OF LIQUEFIED GASES, PREDOMINANTLY LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC B63B11/04 B63B25/16

Abstract RU 2760364 C1

FIELD: shipbuilding.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of shipbuilding and can be used in underwater gas tankers and methane tankers. Proposed is a ballast and cargo tank of an underwater gas tanker for transportation of liquefied gases, predominantly liquefied natural gas, including a heat-insulated metal body with end bulkheads, made of a material resistant to low temperatures, pipelines and fittings for supplying and removing liquefied gas, providing ventilation and control. At least one vertical transverse heat-insulated movable divider, sealed along the external and internal contact surfaces, is installed in the internal space of the horizontally oriented body of the tank, configured to be moved horizontally along the central longitudinal guide by means of a drive. At least one elastic waterproof folding container is installed between at least one transverse movable divider and at least one end bulkhead of the tank, configured for the volume thereof to be increased or reduced in the longitudinal direction multiple times when moving at least one transverse movable divider. At least one elastic container is therein tightly connected by the movable side thereof with the transverse movable divider and by the fixed side with the end bulkhead of the tank, installed wherein are pipelines and fittings for filling at least one elastic container with ballast water and for draining said container. The body of the tank and the central longitudinal guide are equipped with heat insulation means for heat protection of at least one elastic container from low temperatures.

EFFECT: expanded functional capabilities of the ballast and cargo tank and, as a result, reduction in the total displacement of the underwater gas tanker.
