FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related in particular to transport vessels for storage and transportation of liquefied gases. A cargo tank of a gas carrier is proposed to accommodate liquefied gas. The airtight space of the cargo tank is made in form of a multilayer thermally insulated shell, each layer of which is formed by interconnected inflatable elastic panels, covered on the inside with a gas-tight and water-tight elastic membrane. These panels are under positive air pressure and are interconnected with zippers and Velcro fasteners. Fastening between the layers of the shell and the membrane is made using Velcro locks. The shell is also fastened to the inner surface of the hull ceilings and the transverse bulkhead with the help of Velcro locks.
EFFECT: increased strength, reliability, manufacturability and maintainability of the cargo capacity of a gas carrier, as well as a reduction in its construction cost and simplification of its design.
