FIELD: ink production.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for the production of ink containing micro-capsulated thermochromic pigments. A thermochromic pigment composition contains a dye, which is an electron-donating organic compound, an electron acceptor compound, and a compound of the formula (I)

where n=0-2, and m=5-19. The application of the compound of the formula (I), a micro-capsulated thermochromic pigment, an ink composition, and a writing instrument are also proposed.
EFFECT: invention provides high color contrast between dyed and discolored states of the dye.
