FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: proposed group of inventions relates to a heat-sensitive recording material, to a recording sheet made from a heat-sensitive recording material, and to a method of obtaining images using a heat-sensitive recording material. Heat-sensitive recording material contains a) a colour-forming compound selected from fluorans, b) a first non-phenol colour developer of formula (I) and c) a second non-phenol colour developer. In formula I

R and R1 are all independently denote hydrogen; C1-C18-alkyl; C1-C8-alkoxy-C1-C8-alkyl; (R9)2N-C1-C8-alkyl, where R9 denotes C1-C8-alkyl or C5-C6-cycloalkyl; or a radical of formula (II)

in which R2, R3, R4, R5, R6 are all independently denote hydrogen; C1-C8-alkyl; -NH-C(=O)-R7 or -C(=O)-NH-R7, where R7 denotes C1-C8-alkyl; -C(=O)OR8, where R8 denotes C1-C8-alkyl; halogen; or in which R2 and R3 or R4 and R5, or both, or in which R3 and R4 or R5 and R6, or both, or in which R2 and R3 or R5 and R6, or both, together denote a hydrocarbon diradical containing 3 or 4 carbon atoms, and in which Q denotes a single bond or C1-C8-alkylene, which can be branched or unbranched, and where C1-C8-alkylene includes a backbone chain containing one or more oxygen atoms located between two carbon atoms, if C1-C8-alkylene contains more than two carbon atoms.

EFFECT: development of a non-phenolic colour developer for use in heat-sensitive recording materials, which is a technically suitable and cost-effective alternative to existing phenol and non-phenol colour developers.
