SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of veterinary medicine, disinfection, sanitation and is intended to combat bacterial and fungal infections. The disinfectant contains alkyldimethylbenzylammonium chloride, 5% alcohol solution of iodine and water with the following content of components, wt.%: alkyldimethylbenzylammonium chloride - 25-35; 5% alcohol solution of iodine - 0.1-0.2; water - up to 100, and the ratio of alkyldimethylbenzylammonium chloride to 5% alcohol solution of iodine is in the range from 350:1 to 125:1.

EFFECT: invention provides an enhancement of the biocidal properties of a disinfectant, a decrease in its toxicity, an improvement in operational characteristics, a decrease in the likelihood of the development of resistant strains of microorganisms.
