FIELD: experimental pharmacology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to experimental pharmacology and can be used to correct the estrous cycle in female mice for further study of various pathologies of pregnancy and postnatal period in humans and farm animals. The method for synchronizing the estrous cycle in female mice in the experiment is that the female mice are intramuscularly injected with a suspension based on progesterone at a dose of 4.5 mg/100 g, regardless of the phase of the estrous cycle. Then, 6 days later, prostaglandin F2a is administered at a dose of 0.083 mg/100 g.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to carry out hormone-regulating synchronization of the ovulatory cycle in female mice and to obtain a larger number of fertilized individuals at the planned time with a minimum error in the date of birth and, as a consequence, a larger number of experimental animals.
