FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to the production of multilayer ingots by electroslag remelting. The electrode is made by pouring liquid metal into a mold with two types of porous cylindrical shells installed in it in height, coaxially, in several rows, each of which has an inner diameter equal to the diameter of the melted electrode and an outer diameter equal to the inner diameter of the mold. The first type of shells is formed from a working flux, and the second type is additionally equipped with alloying additives, the number of rows of porous shells of both types is equal to each other, the shells are installed sequentially alternating one after another. The cooled electrode includes rows of doped and unalloyed metal alternating in height sequentially.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain a multilayer ingot with pronounced alloyed layers, having a small length of the transition zone between the formed layers without surface defects.
