FIELD: communication.
SUBSTANCE: random access method is comprised of: determining, by the terminal apparatus, the target uplink bandwidth part (BWP) according to the first uplink frequency band part and the first binding ratio and initiating, by the terminal apparatus, a contention-based random access in the target uplink BWP. The first binding ratio therein is the binding ratio between the BWP indices of the uplink frequency band parts and the BWP indices of the downlink frequency band parts.
EFFECT: increase in the probability of successful random access by binding uplink (UL) frequency band parts with a downlink (DL) frequency band part if UL is greater than DL.
