FIELD: coatings.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of applying protective coatings to strip rolled products by the method of hot immersion in a melt and can be applied in production of rolled products with a zinc-aluminium coating. The zinc-aluminium alloy for applying protective coatings onto a steel strip by hot immersion, containing zinc and aluminium, additionally comprises a process additive of silicon in an amount of at least 2.5 wt.% of the content of aluminium and a process additive of titanium in an amount of 0.1 to 0.2 wt.%, and the content of aluminium in the alloy complies with the following condition , wherein is the specific weight of the zinc-aluminium alloy, ranging from 4.55 to 5.36 g/cm³. The invention also relates to a steel strip with the above coating.

EFFECT: increase in the anti-corrosive and plastic properties of the coating due to the reduction in the formation of the bottom kish in the application bath; the invention is also aimed at conserving no less than 25% of the coating material without changing the thickness thereof.
