SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gas and liquid separation columns. The gas and liquid separation column oriented substantially along a vertical axis and including a cylindrical outer wall defining the inner space, located wherein are at least one first contact element, wherein liquid and gas come in contact, at least one distribution apparatus configured to collect the liquid formed in the first contact element and to distribute said liquid to the second contact element, a two-phase fluid medium separation apparatus located in the inner space of the column between the first contact element and the distribution apparatus, a hole for injecting the two-phase fluid medium, made in the outer wall of the column, wherein the injection hole is configured to inject the two-phase fluid medium into the inner space of the column between the first contact element and the distribution apparatus, wherein the separation apparatus includes a channel located between the hole for injecting the two-phase fluid medium into the inner space of the column and the separation chamber, wherein the separation chamber is configured to separate the liquid and gas phases of the two-phase fluid medium and is located near the outer wall, the channel has such a length that the distance travelled by the two-phase fluid medium between the injection hole and the separation chamber is equal to 80% or 90% of the diameter of the column, wherein the separation chamber is limited by a peripheral wall and a vertical wall forming the chord of the circular cross-section of the column, wherein the channel passes through the vertical wall so that the end of the channel is located in the separation chamber.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of separation and reduction in the size of the separation column.
