FIELD: smoking products.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for reducing the content of one or several tobacco-specific nitrosamines formed by a smoking article during use, to an application of sugars for such a method, to a leaf material suitable for smoking, to a method for producing such material, and to a smoking article containing such leaf material. The method for reducing the content of one or several tobacco-specific nitrosamines formed by a smoking article during use includes application of one or several sugars including one or several representatives selected from: arabinose, rhamnose, galactose, glucuronic acid, allose, altrose, glucose, mannose, gulose, idose, talose, psicose, sorbose, tagatose, lyxose, ribose, ribulose, xylose, xylulose and inverted sugar, on a material suitable for smoking, intended for inclusion in a smoking article.
EFFECT: reduction in the content of one or several tobacco-specific nitrosamines formed by the smoking article.
