SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of hybrid aerial vehicles and can be used for soft landing of recoverable space vehicles. The parachute convertible into an aerostat comprises a canopy made of sealed double fabric in the form of an umbrella, an electric power source, a control unit, slings for attaching the suspended system of the recoverable space vehicle, secured whereon is a cylinder with compressed gas, the density whereof is less than the density of the surrounding air, and installed whereon are electrically driven shutoff valves connected by a flexible hose with the inner cavity of the sealed double fabric of the canopy, capable of converting into the shape of a balloon with gas, the density whereof is less than the density of the surrounding air. The method for operation of the parachute is characterised by the use of the parachute.
EFFECT: group of inventions is aimed at safe, smooth, and soft multiple landing of the recoverable space vehicle.
