FIELD: antenna technology.

SUBSTANCE: active transceiver antenna belongs to antenna technology and can be used in radio communication, radio navigation, and radar systems. The use of an active transceiver antenna can be especially useful in the construction of antenna arrays and transponders of radio frequency identification systems. An active transceiver antenna consists of a field-effect transistor, a blocking capacitor and a microstrip antenna itself on a dielectric substrate with a shielding plate. The microstrip antenna has leads (taps), which are connected through holes in the shielding plate to the first gate and source of the field-effect transistor and a high-frequency connector for supplying and removing radio frequency signals. New in an active transceiver antenna is the inclusion of a segment of a microstrip or coaxial transmission line between the source of the field-effect transistor and the tap of the microstrip antenna. In this case, the length of the segment of the microstrip or coaxial transmission line is chosen deliberately greater than the distance between the taps of the microstrip antenna, to which the gate and source of the field-effect transistor are connected. The pin connections of the microstrip antenna provide positive feedback, which provides regenerative amplification of the signals. Moreover, this amplification is carried out both by the signals received by the antenna, and by picking up the already amplified signals at the high-frequency connector of the active antenna, and the signals supplied to this high-frequency connector, and then amplified by the regenerative amplifier, followed by the emission of electromagnetic waves by the microstrip antenna itself. To eliminate self-excitation of the circuit, it is necessary to select the parameters of the field-effect transistor, the location of the taps of the microstrip antenna and apply an external control voltage to the second gate of the field-effect transistor of the required value.

EFFECT: increasing the gain of the active transceiver antenna regardless of the operating frequency and increasing the size of the radiating element of the antenna.
