FIELD: military technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ammunition with increased penetrating power, containing an armor-piercing element as a payload, namely a penetrating module. The high-acting penetrating module contains a carbide body having a cone-shaped head with evenly spaced axial grooves and a tail part. The head part is made combined with the transition of an obtuse cone with an angle β of 120-150° at the apex to an acute angle α of 25-35° of a truncated cone in the remaining part, with curved grooves, at least three, located relative to each other at an angle of 45-120°, between the obtuse apex of the head part and the outer circumference of the body. The trajectory of the tops of the grooves is determined from the expression where x is the abscissa of the point at the top of the groove, x ∈ (0; H); k=0.355 is a coefficient that takes into account the shape of the head part; H is the height of the head part; D is the outer diameter of the body of the penetrating module. The width of the shelf bounding the grooves is determined from the expression a=0.041*D, the body is made with a length determined from the expression L=(7…12)*D. The tail part has the shape of a body of rotation.
EFFECT: increase in the penetrating power of the module by reducing the resistance force on its side and increasing the transverse load on the barrier.
