FIELD: medicine; pharmaceutics; parasitology.

SUBSTANCE: soft chewable veterinary composition is presented for the treatment and/or prevention of a parasitic infection or infestation in an animal, including: a) (i) from 1% to 20% (wt./wt.) of an isooxazoline active agent of a compound A, (ii) at least one systematically acting active agent that is active relatively to internal parasites, where the systematically acting active agent that is active relatively to internal parasites is an active agent of avermectin or milbemycin, praziquantel, febantel, or combinations thereof; and b) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, where the pharmaceutically acceptable carrier includes a surfactant polyethylene glycol hydroxystearate. A method for the treatment or prevention of a parasitic infestation and/or infection in an animal and the use of the compound of the formula (I) for the production of a soft chewable veterinary composition for the treatment and/or prevention of a parasitic infestation and/or infection in an animal are also presented.

EFFECT: high bioavailability of the active agent that leads to a level in plasma, sufficient to provide excellent protection against parasites during a long period of time.
