SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of building, namely, to a facing element for walls, floors, ceilings. The facing element includes a load-bearing plate equipped on the front side thereof with a polymer-containing decorative layer. The facing element has matching recesses and protrusions distributed over the side edges thereof, wherein the recesses and protrusions are made on the side edges facing away from each other, respectively, so as to engage with each other when the facing elements are located near each other, the recesses and protrusions are located on the load-bearing plate.
