SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of veterinary medicine and pharmaceuticals, namely, to a method for treating digital dermatitis in cattle, including application of an ointment 1 to 2 times to the affected areas, wherein additionally, prior to applying the ointment, the limbs are cleaned, hooves are trimmed, dead tissues are removed, the affected fingers are treated with a disinfecting agent, and the ointment is preliminarily applied to tampons or towels secured on the affected areas using a bandage in the form of a fabric-based adhesive tape covered with polyethylene, wherein an ointment is used with the following composition, wt.%: iodophore with a 5.5% iodine content – 70.0; 80% lactic acid – 5.0; glycerin – 5.0; dimexide – 5.0; ointment base the rest.

EFFECT: effective treatment of digital dermatitis (Mortellaro disease) with ensured uniform absorption when applying the described antiseptic ointment exhibiting an analgesic effect.
