FIELD: petroleum industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to purification and maintenance of the surface of open reservoirs in proper condition, is intended for elimination of emergency petroleum spills using dispersants containing several active components: sodium dioctylsulphosuccinate, sorbitan monooleate, polyoxyethylene sorbitan monooleate, and a solvent. The dispersants are applied to the petroleum spill film using dispersing apparatuses from ships, airplanes and helicopters. The substance of the claimed technical solution consists in the fact that a dispersant consisting of sodium dioctylsulphosuccinate - 10 to 30 wt.%, polyoxyethylene sorbitan monooleate - 20 to 30 wt.%, sorbitan monooleate - 10 to 20 wt.%, solvent the rest, is applied to the petroleum spill film. The solvent consists of a mixture of water and one of glycols selected from the group C3-C5: propylene glycol, butylene glycol, pentylene glycol, in the ratio glycol : water = 40 to 60 : 60 to 40 wt.%.

EFFECT: development of a method for elimination of consequences of emergency petroleum spills, namely a method for elimination of water surface pollution using dispersants exhibiting: low toxicity due to the use of less toxic solvents; higher biodegradability due to the high half-decay speed of solvents constituting 1 to 4 days; low freezing point (-40°C), providing a possibility of use not only in normal conditions with the temperature of water and air to 20°C and above, but also in the Arctic conditions, namely, with the temperature of water close to the freezing point (0°C) and temperature of air of up to minus 40°C; greater (for a number of compositions, comparable, but no less than 50%) dispersion efficiency at different densities of petroleum, at different temperatures, different water salinity, allowing for use of the claimed method in seas with different salinity.
