SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of foundry production. The method for curing the liquid-glass mixture in the manufacture of molds and rods includes filling the equipment with a liquid-glass mixture and purging it with carbon dioxide to form carbonic acid and sodium hydro-carbonate. Before purging with carbon dioxide, a salt is applied to the surface of the liquid-glass mixture, the cation of which is a metal with a positive electrode potential, and the anion is an acid residue greater in strength than carbonic acid, with a molecular ratio of liquid glass and salt 2:1. The application of the mentioned salt reduces the content of low-melting sodium hydro-carbonate formed during purging with carbon dioxide, which lowers the strength characteristics of the liquid-glass mixture.

EFFECT: stable strength of the liquid-glass mixture is provided.
