FIELD: metalworking.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for locally increasing the roll gap in the area of the edges of the rolled strip in the rolling mill stand. The rolling mill stand therein has an upper working roll and a lower working roll. Each working roll in the axial direction has a conical section and a working surface after said section. The upper working roll is mounted in the opposite direction to the lower working roll. Each working roll has a separate displacement apparatus for axial displacement of the working roll. The rolled material is therein hot-rolled in the rolling mill stand, wherein the radial length of the working surface of the working roll during rolling is reduced. The working rolls are axially displaced in opposite directions to the displacement path depending on the wear of the working surface of the rolls in the radial direction and on the angle of elevation of the conical section of the working roll.
EFFECT: possibility of locally changing the roll gap in the area of the edges of the strip during hot rolling is provided as a result.
