FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method for identifying a failure event in a sector of an electrical distribution network, containing one or more electrical receivers and having a connecting node with the main network. A possibility of detecting the network current of said network sector using a sensor tool is provided in the connecting node. The method comprises the following stages: a) for each phase of the electric current, obtaining first data values reflecting the specified network current in the consecutive moments of the sample, separated into a time window sequence; b) processing the first data values from the stage (a) and the first data values obtained, for each phase of the electric current, in second moments of the sample preceding the specified first moments of the sample and at least partially included in the previous time window preceding the specified time window, in order to verify whether the specified current network in the specified time window is subjected to an anomalous change relative to the specified previous time window, wherein, based on the specified first data values, a statistic value reflecting the change in said network current in a time window relative to the previous time window is calculated and compared with a threshold value in order to determine whether the specified anomalous change of the current network occurs within the time window; c) if it is determined that the specified current network is not subjected to an anomalous change, said stage (b) is repeated for the following moments of the sample; d) if it is determined that the current network is subjected to an anomalous change, one or more first data values obtained for each phase of the electric current are processed in order to calculate the second data values reflecting an abnormal change in the specified network current; e) said second data values are processed to verify whether the anomalous change the specified network current is caused by the characteristic transitional working of the electric load of the specified network current, wherein a correlation between the second data values and the second reference values related to the specified electric load indicates that the anomalous change in the current network is caused by the occurrence of the characteristic transitional working period for the specified electric load and not by a failure in the electric circuit, and a discrepancy indicates that the anomalous change in the network current is caused by the presence of a failure in the electric circuit.
EFFECT: increase in the reliability and efficiency of control of the functioning of network sectors, especially when the sectors comprise electrical receivers absorbing high currents during specific transitional periods in the course of operating life thereof.
