FIELD: vacuum microwave electronic devices.
SUBSTANCE: non-adiabatic electron gun for a cyclotron resonance maser (CRM) includes a cathode located on a falling portion of the magnetic field of the main solenoid, containing two or more separate emitting portions of identical shape, equidistant from the magnetic field axis of the main solenoid, located in the cathode recesses, and an anode with holes, each of which corresponds to one of the emitting sections of the cathode. The distance between the cathode and the anode at the given strengths of the electric and magnetic fields is made such that the time of flight of its electrons is much less than the period of cyclotron oscillations of electrons in it, and the angle between the directions of the electric and magnetic fields on the surface of each emitting area is in the range from 10 to 30°.
EFFECT: increasing the stability and efficiency of the gun.
