FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: generator of a noiselike wideband microwave signal on a virtual cathode comprises a source of electrons, an electrodynamic system (5) with an energy output (6) and a collector (7), a static magnetic focusing system (8), made as capable to generate the static magnetic field with the discontinuity area, and the source of electrons is a magnetron-injector gun with an emitter strip (3) on a cathode (2), generating a hollow cylindrical screw electronic beam (1) capable of drifting in one direction and generation of the virtual cathode in the drift space in the area of discontinuity of the static magnetic field. Width of the emitting strip of the magnetron-injector gun cathode is selected to ensure maximum spread of electron speeds. The magnetic focusing system comprises two sources of the static magnetic field.
EFFECT: elimination of current deposition on walls of the drift chamber, provision of considerable spread of electrons by speeds, increased width of the device generation spectrum and reduced irregularity of the spectrum.
