FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device (10) for winding reinforcing tape along the length of sealing on both sides of part (61) of pipe (60) to be repaired. Device (10) comprises: carriage (20) rigidly connected to reel holder (30), reel of reinforcing tape (32) wound on said reel holder, means for driving said carriage into rotation (65, 15, 67, 17, 12, 13) around the circumference of said pipe and translational movement (20, 40) along the longitudinal axis of said pipe so that said tape is wound around said pipe in the form of a spiral, means (34, 36) for changing the direction of translational movement of said carriage so that at each change of direction the said carriage moves in the direction opposite to the previous one, and that the layer of the reinforcing tape is wound around the specified pipe with overlapping on the previous layer. Said carriage drive means further comprise conveyor chain (40) having two branches, moving between first gear and second gear in opposite directions, and movable means of engagement of said carriage with said chain, made with possibility of interaction with specified branches of chain.

EFFECT: said means of changing direction are made with possibility to move movable means of coupling of said carriage from one branch to another and vice versa so that when one of the movable coupling means is disconnected from one branch, the other movable coupling means interacts with the other branch, and thus said means of changing direction are actuated automatically during rotation of said carriage around said pipe.
