FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture and is aimed at decontaminating the soil from pests and weeds using powerful ultraviolet emission. The apparatus for protecting plants with UV emission, used with agricultural equipment, comprises a frame, installed whereon is an alternating current generator and baths with UV emitters. The baths consist of two screens, wherein one is made movable, so as to be able to adjust the width of irradiation to the width of the planting beds, leaving cultivated plants outside of the area of exposure to UV emission.
EFFECT: invention increases the efficiency of destruction of weeds and insects on large areas of open soil without damaging cultivated plants.
