FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a polymer pipe of a drive shaft reinforced with fibres and to a method for manufacture thereof. The drive shaft comprises an elongated monolithic composite pipe (20) with a front hinge (10) containing a pipe fork (12) and a back hinge (40) distanced from the front hinge (10). Both hinges are provided at the respective opposite ends thereof, wherein the inner layer (24) comprises carbon fibres or glass fibres coaxially wound on each other, and the outer layer (22) is wound directly on the inner layer (24). The ratio of the thickness of the carbon fibre winding and the thickness of the fibreglass winding is from 0.8 to 1.2.
EFFECT: effective compensation for the torsional loads on the fibre-reinforced drive shaft pipe made of a composite material.
