FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of boundary layer control means. Method of installing a group of vortex generators, made in the form of a set of pads, each of which includes an elevation configured to generate an attached vortex structure, and base surface of cantilever airfoil, limited in span by tip and root end, containing upper and lower sides. Group of vortex generators is installed in one row and divided into two sections located with shift along chord relative to each other with possibility of redistribution of energy increment of boundary layer along aerodynamic surface span at change of angle of attack. One of the sections of the group of vortex generators is located in the unidirectional flow zone, and the other section is located in the reverse flow zone. Vortex generators installed in zone of reverse flow with envelopment of front edge form frontal section. Cantilever airfoil includes the main part and a group of elevations of vortex generators made in the form of a set of pads and installed using the disclosed method.
EFFECT: group of inventions is aimed at complex improvement of characteristics of cantilever aerodynamic surfaces due to implementation of vortex twist effect.
