FIELD: aircraft engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of changing the aerodynamic characteristics of aerodynamic surfaces for various purposes, in particular the wings and tail elements of aircraft, wind turbine blades and yacht masts. In the group of vortex generators, each is made in the form of a sickle-shaped plate of a layered composite material and formed by the working and base edges. The shape of the base edge corresponds to the profile of the aerodynamic surface near the leading edge, taking into account the angle of installation of the vortex generator, and the angle between the tangent to the base edge taken at its extreme points is from 60 to 120 degrees. The method for installing the vortex generators consists in cutting and applying at least one reinforcement strip of woven material with a thickness of 0.03 to 0.2 mm to the fore plate, pre-impregnated with epoxy resin, applying epoxy resin to the concave edges of the vortex generators and installing the vortex generators on the reinforcement strip until the epoxy resin is cured.
EFFECT: ensuring the possibility of installing vortex generators directly on the leading edge of the aerodynamic surface in the absence of any protruding elements on the sock skin, except for the actual ridges of the vortex generators, while ensuring both high operational strength of the vortex generator installation and high strength, durability and tightness of the internal volume of the aerodynamic surface.
