FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a particle for use in an inhalation composition consisting of: from 1 to 10 wt.% of nicotine, from 64 to 90 wt.% of sugar, which is lactose, saccharose, raffinose, trehalose, fructose, dextrose, glucose, maltose, mannitol or a combination thereof, and leucine, wherein the particle is obtained by spray drying a liquid mixture containing nicotine, sugar and leucine, and the particle has a size in the range from 0.5 to 10 micrometers. The present invention also relates to an inhalation composition and to a method for producing nicotine-containing particles for an inhalation composition.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at providing nicotine-containing particles and compositions that can be easily obtained and processed so that nicotine-containing particles and compositions do not stick to working surfaces or do not agglomerate and demonstrate a stable particle size distribution.
