FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular, to processing of oxidised zinc ore. The method includes sulphuric acid leaching of the ore in a four-stage counter-current mode, dividing of the resulting pulp into a solution of zinc sulphate and insoluble cake. The 1st stage of leaching is therein conducted with sulphuric acid in a concentration of 98 g/l, the filtered cake is subjected to the 2nd stage of leaching in a solution of sulphuric acid in a concentration of 28 g/l, the cake from the 2nd stage of ore leaching is subjected to the 3rd stage of leaching in a solution of sulphuric acid in a concentration of 14 g/l, the cake from the 3rd stage is subjected to the 4th stage of leaching with water, resulting a solution of zinc sulphate and insoluble cake. The temperature of the pulp at the stages of leaching is 40°C, 40°C, 40°C, and 25°C, respectively. The duration for each of the above stages is 10 minutes and S:L=1:4 for the initial ore.
EFFECT: method allows for an increase in the recovery of zinc from oxidised zinc ore into a solution of zinc sulphate and reduction in the consumption of sulphuric acid.
