FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for desalination of sea water in mobile conditions - on ships or in stationary conditions - near coasts of seas, oceans, as well as on sea platforms. Air is saturated with water vapour inside dome-shaped housing 4 by bubbling sea water heated to temperature above 100 °C by atmospheric air, which is supplied under pressure through fine-meshed screen 1 with size of cells, providing air passage through it, but excluding air outlet through lower part of housing. Dome-shaped housing 4 is placed so that mesh 1 is under a layer of sea water. For this purpose, it is lowered on cable 5 and immersed below waterline 3. At the same time under the dome there is formed a space not filled with water for supply of air saturated with steam. Salt water desalination device also includes a condenser-cooler, a storage tank for collecting desalinated water, a hot air generator, a supply air duct 7, connected to a fan for injecting air into bubbling zone 2, as well as air duct 6 communicated with the fan for pumping out the moisture-saturated air from the dome space.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to simplify method and device due to exclusion of sea water pumping and its heating to boiling point, as well as significantly reduce energy consumption for the steam generation process and increase efficiency, since it depends only on the volume of hot air passed through.
