METHOD FOR VACUUM CONVERSION OF SALT WATER AND DEVICE FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC C02F1/04 B01D3/10 C02F103/08

Abstract RU 2664943 C2

FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: claimed invention relates to water desalination using a vacuum distillation method and can be used for desalination and neutralization of unsuitable water in areas with a large number of sunny days. This method for vacuum desalination of salt water includes hydrostatic evacuation of boiling 28 and condensation 17 cavities, boiling of salt water in boiling cavity 28 and condensation of water vapor in condensation cavity 17, removal of accumulated non-condensable gases. Boiling 28 and condensation cavities 17 are respectively filled with salt and fresh water when performing their hydrostatic evacuation. Cavities 28 and 17 are separated. Boiling of salt water is performed with periodic replenishment of boiling cavity 28 with salt water until the salt concentration close to the saturation point is achieved, or until the ultimate combined pressure of non-condensable gases and saturated water vapor is reached. After that, cavities 28 and 17 are also separated. Displacement of non-condensable gases from boiling 28 and condensation 17 cavities is preformed using salt and fresh water, respectively. Boiling cavity 28, when the concentrated brine is drained from it, is connected to the atmosphere. Above device for desalination of salt water contains boiling 28 and condensation 17 cavities communicating along the steam line and connected with main pipes of salt 23 and fresh water 18. In the line of movement of the vapor between boiling 28 and condensation 17 cavities, as well as in the drainage section, controlled valves 30, 25 are installed.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to dramatically reduce the inflow of non-condensable gases into the boiling cavity and to lower the requirements for the depth of deaeration of salt water supplied for desalination.
