FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical waste disposal. Method of recycling medical wastes of classes A, B, C and D, with the exception of mercury-containing and radioactive wastes, includes their batch loading into a reactor, thermal treatment with afterburning of the obtained gaseous products in jets of acute blasting, unloading of neutralized focal residues, partial cooling of flue gases in a steam boiler for auxiliary needs and abrupt cooling in a gas cooler, as well as wet reagent cleaning of flue gases before their release into atmosphere. Heat treatment of wastes is carried out in a medium of high-temperature plasma consisting of a mixture of hot flue gases and water vapour at ratio of 2:1 and with temperature of 1200 ± 50 °C, for 3–5 minutes, to obtain complete carbonisation of wastes, followed by cooling by steam jets for 2 minutes and removal of wastes in form of agglomerated iron-carbon material.
EFFECT: invention provides the creation of a reliable and simple technology for recycling medical wastes, which provides fast and complete destruction of organic compounds, their carbonisation, reduced volume and weight of wastes and impossibility of their secondary use, as well as reduced concentration of dioxins and furans in flue gases.
