FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat power engineering and can be used in the processes of purification and recycling of flue gases of thermal power units of TPPs for the purpose of reducing the greenhouse effect on the environment. The method for lime purification of flue gases of coal-fired boilers of TPPs from carbon dioxide includes the use of chemisorption processes; the gases are consecutively dry-purified from ash, washed in hot state with a solution of calcium bicarbonate Ca(HCO3)2 in a scrubber until decomposition while heating to 95–100 °C resulting in a suspension of calcium carbonate CaCO3 and enrichment of the flue gases with carbon dioxide. The resulting suspension is held and thickened, then directed to a spray dryer as a slip to produce a dry powder of CaCO3. After the scrubber, the gases are cooled to 40–60 °C in a heat exchanger. Washed in an absorber under excessive pressure with filtered lime milk at 20 °C, binding CO2 in Ca(HCO3)2. The decarbonised gases are discharged into the atmosphere after being purified in a drop catcher. The resulting solution of Ca(HCO3)2 is directed to the scrubber for decomposition at the beginning of the cycle.

EFFECT: creation of a simple, safe, inexpensive, and effective technology for purifying flue gases of coal-fired boilers of TPPs from carbon dioxide in a bound form using the processes of chemisorption and preliminary enrichment of the gas medium with carbon dioxide.
