FIELD: chemical treatment of hides. SUBSTANCE: method involves squeezing fur hides, after their being degreased, by means of centrifuge up to 55-60% moisture, slicking in putting-out machine and smearing with emulsion containing in by mass: industrial oil 40-50, acetic acid 20-40, non-ionogenic surface active substance 3-5, water up to 100, the emulsion consumption being 300-350 g/m2. The emulsion is applied with penetrating-type machine exerting intensive mechanical action upon the half-finished product during 10-15 s. The emulsion having been applied and fully and uniformly distributed all over the dermal layers, hide is hold lying for 4 h to let the acid penetrate into the structure of collagen fibers. The treatment in the penetrating-type machine having been accomplished, chromic tanning agent is applied in the concentration of 100-150 g/l. The solution is to be applied in the quantities depending on the fur use and chromium oxide contents in the skin tissue and skin tissue scalding temperature. Then, the hide is hold lying for 2 h, its scalding temperature is determined and its drying and finishing is performed. EFFECT: improved properties of fur and hide. 1 tbl
