SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polymer compounds releasing hydrogen sulphide and their use. Disclosed is a hydrogen sulphide-releasing polymer compound containing a polysaccharide backbone, where the compound contains at least two substructures and where said substructures are capable of releasing hydrogen sulphide by activating a thiol, where the polysaccharide backbone is selected from the group comprising hyaluronic acid, cellulose derivatives, sodium or calcium salt of alginic acid, chondroitin sulphate, dermatan sulphate, chitosan, chitosan derivatives, pectin and its salts. Versions of using said compound are also disclosed.
EFFECT: controlled release of hydrogen sulphide enables to use the disclosed compound for local administration for treating and preventing skin diseases.
