SUBSTANCE: one sequence of multiple sequences can be transmitted in several tones of at least one short packet symbol, transmitting at least one bit of information. Plurality of sequences may have identical values in a first set of locations of common tones for demodulation reference signals (DMRS), and groups of sequences from the plurality of sequences can be identified, wherein each sequence in the group has a second set of common tone locations for the DMRS.

EFFECT: enabling the receiving device to identify groups of hypotheses of sequences, having the same values in a first set of locations of common tones of demodulation reference signals, DMRS, and each hypothesis of a sequence in a group having a second set of locations of common DMRS tones with different values.
