SUBSTANCE: invention relates to robotics and is intended to determine the spatial position of a mobile robot, and can be used for non-destructive testing of various objects in the form of a parallelepiped, for example steel slabs. The system for contactless determination of the coordinates of a mobile robot moving on a rectangular platform contains a radiating signal transmitter mounted on the robot body, as well as at least two radiating signal receivers, each of which is installed in adjacent corners of the rectangular platform for moving the robot, while the radiating signal transmitter and each of the radiating signal receivers are connected to a controller made with the ability to determine the coordinates of the robot’s location by their indicators, as well as the system contains racks, installed in the corners of the rectangular platform for moving the robot, each of which has an optical signal receiver in the form of a photocell, as well as a servo motor with an absolute encoder on the shaft, which is mounted on the robot body and connected to the controller.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of determining the position of the robot while simplifying the design of the system.
