FIELD: propylene production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compressor lines for systems and methods for producing propylene by propane dehydrogenation. The compressor line (13) for the dehydrogenation unit (1) includes a drive (36) and a single centrifugal compressor (35) connected to the drive to transfer the drive force. This centrifugal compressor includes a single casing and several compressor sections (39.1, 39.2, 39.3) inside said casing (37). Each compressor section includes at least one impeller (40.1, 40.2) mounted for rotation in the housing (37). The compressor (35) is configured to compress a mixture containing propane, propylene and hydrogen having a molecular weight of 20 to 35 g/mol from a suction pressure of about 0.2 to about 1.5 bar abs. up to a discharge pressure of about 11 to about 20 bar abs. with a volume flow from about 120,000 to about 950,000 m3/h.
