FIELD: composite materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to glass-filled polyphenylene sulphide-based compositions intended as structural polymer materials, and to a method for production thereof. The composition includes polyphenylene sulphide and glass fibres treated with a 4% solution of hydrofluoric acid and coated with an organic finishing agent - polyhydroxy ether based on 1-chloro-2,3-epoxypropane and 4,4'-dioxy diphenylpropane with a degree of polycondensation n=165÷175. The amount of the finishing agent relative to the glass fibre is 1 to 4 wt.% .The amount of finished glass fibre in the composition is 20 wt.%.
EFFECT: resulting compositions exhibit improved physico-mechanical and rheological properties due to the treatment with hydrofluoric acid and introduction of a finishing agent, enhancing the wettability of the filler and increasing the boundary interactions between the glass fibre and the polyphenylene sulphide matrix.
