FIELD: engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines. Cam mechanism with a tappet (11) is intended for use in an adjustable valve mechanism (10) of the internal combustion engine of a vehicle. The cam mechanism includes a camshaft (12), a cam holder (14), a cam follower (16A), and a first actuator (24). The cam holder (14) is located on the camshaft (12) non-rotatably, configured for axial movement between a first axial position and a second axial position, and has a first cam (32), a second cam (34), and a first engagement track (42) for axial displacement of the cam holder (14). The cam follower (16A) in the first axial position of the cam holder (14) is coupled with the first cam (32), and in the second axial position of the cam holder (14) is coupled with the second cam (34). The first actuator (24) has a retractable and extending element, in particular, a pin, to be engaged with the first engagement track (42) for axial displacement of the cam holder (14). The first cam (32) and the second cam (34) are located along the longitudinal axis of the camshaft (12) with a mutual offset. The first cam (32) comprises a main circumference area and a valve stroke area with a boundary part adjacent to the main circumference area of the first cam (32). The second cam (34) comprises a main circumference area and a valve stroke area with a boundary part adjacent to the main circumference area of the second cam (34). The boundary part (32C) of the first cam (32) and the boundary part (34E) of the second cam (34) are made identical and located in the same radial position relative to the longitudinal axis of the camshaft (12). The first actuator (24), the cam follower (16A), and the first engagement track (42) are located and configured for axial displacement of the cam holder (14) while the cam follower (16A) is coupled with the boundary part of the first cam (32) and/or the boundary part of the second cam (34). The first engagement track (42) has a cross-sectional narrowing for reducing the gap between the first engagement track (42) and the retractable and extending element of the first actuator (24) during engagement. The gap is reduced before the cam follower (16A) is coupled with the boundary part of the first cam (32) or the boundary part of the second cam (34). The second engagement track (44) has a cross-sectional narrowing for reducing the gap between the second engagement track (44) and the retractable and extending element of the second actuator (24) during engagement, positioned so that the gap is reduced before the cam follower (16A) is coupled with the boundary part of the first cam (32) or the boundary part of the second cam (34). Disclosed are an adjustable valve mechanism, a vehicle including the adjustable valve mechanism, and a method for operation of the internal combustion engine with a cam mechanism.
EFFECT: reduction in the forces occurring during movement of the cam holder.
