SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of gas distribution, in particular reducing the pressure of natural gas using a reducing device, and can be used at gas distribution stations of main gas pipelines. The method for reducing natural gas includes a general preheating of natural gas in a recuperative heat exchanger, cascading reduction of gas pressure in the gas pipeline by installing several linear additional gas pressure regulators 3 to the main gas pressure regulator distributed along the linear part of the gas pipeline, the first of which is placed at the entrance to the gas pipeline 1, and the subsequent ones are placed along the gas pipeline with a predetermined step determined from the condition of ensuring a temperature of no less than 0.1°C at the outlet of linear additional gas pressure regulators, the gas is heated in the gas pipeline after being reduced during its movement due to heat exchange with the soil having a positive temperature, the gas pipeline 1 is equipped with a digital system 4 that provides automated control of the flow rate 7, temperature 6 and pressure 8 of gas, soil temperature 5, with which the permissible levels of pressure reduction in each linear gas pressure regulator 1 are determined and corrected, automatic control of the process of natural gas reduction in the gas pipeline is performed.

EFFECT: reducing the temperature difference of the transported natural gas on the device for reducing the gas distribution station.
