The covering element comprises a decorative component made of a ceramic material having an upper side and a lower side, with a thickness of more than 12 mm. A reinforcing component configured to create a compressed stress state in the decorative component is placed under the lower surface of the decorative component.
EFFECT: increase in the impact strength of the covering element.
