SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a floor element for forming a floor covering and to a floor covering. Floor element for forming a floor covering comprises a decorative layer, a support layer and an intermediate layer located between the decorative layer and the support layer, wherein the decorative layer is made of a fragile material, wherein the floor element comprises edges, in which connecting elements are provided, made with possibility of interaction with connecting elements of an adjacent similar floor element in the floor covering, and wherein the intermediate layer comprises at least one edge, which is offset relative to the corresponding edge of the decorative layer. Floor coating includes a plurality of floor elements, in which an intermediate distance is provided between the edges of the decorative layer, which contains a grout, which at least fills the intermediate space.
EFFECT: invention enables to create an alternative floor element, solving the problem of fatigue destruction of the coating during floating laying, especially in places of joints with grouting.
