SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical diagnostic equipment. The method for simultaneous shadow chronographic registration of shock wave and plasma processes includes the generation of pulsed laser radiation with an active element made of a single crystal of yttrium orthoaluminate with neodymium, while the radiation enters the vacuum chamber through the diagnostic windows perpendicular to the diode axis, shining through the sample with polished side faces and the diode gap, with further separation of the laser radiation that hit the lens, equipped with a slit diaphragm, a beam-splitting mirror, for simultaneous hitting the slit of fast and slow electron-optical converters operating in the chronographic mode, with further construction of images on the screen of electron-optical converters and photographic fixation of these images, wherein the laser radiation, after passing through the diaphragm, is passed through at least one green or interference filter.
EFFECT: chronographic visualization of shock-wave and plasma processes that occur during the action of a high-current electron beam on the sample under study.
