FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for decomposing a petroleum-based plastic polyformaldehyde material (POM) using a biomass. The proposed method includes the stages of: uniformly mixing alcohol produced from the biomass, polyformaldehyde and a catalyst in a solvent and sealing the mixture; wherein the catalyst is selected from H2SO4, Cu(OTf)2, In(OTf)3, Zn(OTf)2, Co(OTf)3, Ni(OTf)3, Cd(OTf)2, Tl(OTf)3, Cr(OTf)3, Fe(OTf)3, Zr(OTf)4, K(OTf), Li(OTf), Ca(OTf)2, Mg(OTf)2, Nd(OTf)3, Ce(OTf)3, Y(OTf)3, Yb(OTf)3, La(OTf)3, Er(OTf)3, and the solvent is selected from methanol, butanol, isopropanol, tert-butanol, acetone, ethyl acetate, cyclohexane, isooctane, dichloromethane, dichloroethane, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride and DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide), and mixing and heating the sealed mixture to 40°C to 100°C to execute the reaction for 2 to 8 hours, cooling the reaction product to room temperature naturally, and isolating the product.
EFFECT: effective method for decomposing petroleum-based POM.
